Brothers 05:03
I met my wild eyed brother at the bottom of the well he said "the truth's the greatest story, even if i never tell" i told him "come out from your shelter, show your sharpened tongue and set them free" he said "brother tell me how that you could ever be so vain to think the movement of your words could somehow leave a stain on the broken hearted people with no will to wash away their pain?" then the shadow came, and in the air it hung singing "the water that breaks your thirst is the same that fills your lungs" so we took our new directions, one to see and one to sky oh, what a strain to maintain moisture, in a world thats oh so dry but i cant avert my focus, and even if i could oh why would i? then the voices came, and they made the sweetest sound singing "the fire that warms your home is the same that burns it down" i met my tired eyed brother on the lonely mountainside we watched the city come to ruins, and there emerged a great divide and the wolves became the rulers, and the prey it tried to hide and the truthful were the golden, but the truth had all but died when he turned to me and asked me "is it worth it in the end to understand more than the others, but to live without a friend?" but i was too weary to answer, so i took my thread and i set to mend my wounds then father time came as if to say that thousands of years could pass you by in a single day and i still dont know a thing

fight the ocean in the morning fight the fire when its cold lord knows it hit me without warning lord knows im scared of getting old but the tragedy that ive been faced with i still have nothing to regret and all the glory my eyes have been graced with i know i aint seen nothing yet i see the moth flutter to the flame not knowing what it is to be burned and i cant help but to feel the same funny how these tables turn but the tragedy that ive been faced with i still have nothing to regret and all the glory my eyes have been graced with i know i aint seen nothing yet so it is, whatever it will be but when i fight the ocean it comes fighting back at me so it is, whatever it will be when i fight the ocean

to the gatekeeper: move now or forever rest your head i am westward bound and my feet, they leave a wake of dread to my long lost friend: keep your head tilted towards the sky and as i float above i’ll be sure to look you in your eyes to my fathers son: keep your words few and far between and if they’re worth your time they will know what your silence means where the garden and the stables meet, you will find me when my shadow and reflection meet i will find peace

Mild Men 04:06
this land is your land, this land is my land from california to the new york island from the redwood forest to the gulf stream waters this land, it was made for you and me and i wont trifle with the likes of mild men along my way who will die for nothing in the coming days and when im ashes, i’ll let the light in what are my mountains to a titan? and earthly comforts, i will not seek them just as the valley comforts the weakened i wont trifle with the likes of mild men along my way who will die for nothing in the coming days and i wont break my bread with anyone who ushers in the age of the faithless and decayed discover me, discover what to fear descending from the wild mountain clear discover me reflected in your tears hearing are the deaf who trespassed here

a wise old man once said to me "keep track of your blessings, whatever they may be" and as the great blue whale dives down under me i’m trying to find some solace at the surface of the sea and he says, “come and join us, where the demons are the lonely ones where that angry sun will never break you down because one day the world will change for us, and theres no time to hesitate so just take the step and leave it all behind” washed up on the shoreline i am thinking as i sit that this old torn beach don’t need me half as much as i need it so i rise to my feet and i whisper my goodbye and when i dive into that water i’ve never felt more alive so come and join us, where the demons are the lonely ones where that angry sun will never break you down because one day the world will change for us, and theres no time to hesitate so just take the step and leave it all behind me and josephine, we do just fine and the thought of the world before this hasn’t crossed my mind since then

The Vulture 05:03
lets get married on the frozen pond that i fell into when i was young youre the city i was born inside this brokenness we glorified all i need is you all i need is i knew you were an animal that my words could never tame because you knew that lifes a pretty picture in a broken birchwood frame and you can keep my sanity cause it means nothing in this age and we are humble in our vanity because a book with a thousand chapters must begin with a single page all i need is you all i need is theres something about the light in this place and the way the colors flash across your face now im trapped inside this dream but dont wake me up for anyone or anything so ill cradle you in broken arms and ill sing you my refrain that all i need is you and all i’ve seen is you you’re all i’ve ever seen

my sister said “take care of him, he knows not what to do” oh i need you, but i need you to need me too and what the doctor gave to me, it couldn’t ease my mind what i needed was escape from the hands of time but i wont bleed, and i wont die no, as for me im alive i don’t need no evidence to prove the truth i find you can leave me if i ever fall behind and if i don’t come home again then trust ive found my way oh ill make it, know ill make it, if not today but i wont bleed, and i wont die no, as for me im alive and i wont plead, and i wont sigh no, i believe im alive i wont turn like my namesake but ill walk upon the water just the same so twist my cross like saint peters oh, to die like my beloved id be ashamed if we don’t come home again and everything has changed know the names that you once gave us, they still remain
8.
i leave my eyes to the blind for the balance lost on the thinnest line we pretend to know that everything goes in time climbing hands, knotty pine pray your blood will turn to wine don’t let it be until everything around is fine breathing in to the creaking of your spine hey, i am looking for the bold to admit their yearning for the breaking of the mold and oh, in a city made of coal, why are your people burning? cant they forget what they’ve been told? i close my eyes to the blind i know my blood’s gonna turn to wine i wont let it be until everything i see is mine breathing in until the breaking of my spine brother, call my name, ill be bound to hear you sister, keep my soul, your love makes them fear you lover, call my name, ill be bound to hear you sister heal my soul with your love
