lyrics

I met my wild eyed brother at the bottom of the well
he said "the truth's the greatest story, even if i never tell"
i told him "come out from your shelter, show your sharpened tongue and set them free"

he said "brother tell me how that you could ever be so vain to think the movement of your words could somehow leave a stain on the broken hearted people with no will to wash away their pain?"

then the shadow came, and in the air it hung
singing "the water that breaks your thirst is the same that fills your lungs"

so we took our new directions, one to see and one to sky
oh, what a strain to maintain moisture, in a world thats oh so dry
but i cant avert my focus, and even if i could oh why would i?

then the voices came, and they made the sweetest sound
singing "the fire that warms your home is the same that burns it down"

i met my tired eyed brother on the lonely mountainside
we watched the city come to ruins, and there emerged a great divide
and the wolves became the rulers, and the prey it tried to hide
and the truthful were the golden, but the truth had all but died
when he turned to me and asked me "is it worth it in the end to understand more than the others, but to live without a friend?"
but i was too weary to answer, so i took my thread and i set to mend my wounds

then father time came as if to say that thousands of years could pass you by in a single day

and i still dont know a thing
